I have just touching my shoulder length hair, just enough that its too long to wear down 24/7 like I did when I first got it cut, but too short for it all to just fit in a ponytail. I'm constantly looking on youtube for fun things to do but my hair is that awkward in between length.
So today at work I wanted to put my hair up but I felt a simple ponytail was just too plain, see when I had long hair I never wore it the same way twice I loved trying new things everyday, so you can see how my lenght now is encroaching on my hairspiration. What I did was so simple and quick...I mean I did it in two minutes with only a paper clip and my hairband.
Instructions (I will post pictures when I'm not at work):
Part your hair the opposite side then usual (you'll see why)
Once parted braid the side with the least amount of hair, not too tight just a loose braid and secure it with the paper clip.
Then flip the part back to your usual side and braid the top half.
Throw your hair into a messy bun and there you go!A simple, relaxed, summer up do. For any length!

Donating Blood
So I'm terrified of needless I have been known to faint at the doctor's office from a shot, but I always see the blood bank trucks on campus and today I said to myself, "why would you let your fear rule over you and prevent you from helping others?" so I did it! I gave blood it was nerve racking and stressful considering the guy next to me almost passed out and was throwing up before I even started but the staff was amazing! They had me laughing and singing the whole time, I have to admit I was a little sad to leave!
For anyone thinking about donating blood, do it! I close family friend and a woman whose house I was at maybe more than my own growing up is fighting a losing battle with luekemia and is having to go through 8 pints of blood a week, to know that what I did today can help her and others in need feels amazing, literally I have tears right now.
Tonight at work (I work in the religion center on campus) I took a moment from my rounds to step into the chapel and pray, something even though I was a strong faith, it's something I haven't done in a while. I thanked god for my health and that my health that he has given me is able to help others, I asked him to watch over those in need, to give them comfort and to know that he is there. Today has been life changing for me, and I can not wait to give blood again in two months.
"Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress."

I DID IT!
So I tried the salad jars and the egg on pita from Dr.OZ and they were amazing!
Salad Jars:
I decided not to use the recipes online because I wanted to find the cheapest options...college student here! I did my own version of chef salad and a taco salad (the taco one is amazing!)
Chef (order bottom to top):
So Newman's Own was on-sale 2/6 so I got Light Honey Mustard
Broccoli, Carrots, Snap Peas (I found a bag of stir fry mix veggies)
Grape Tomatoes
Cheese Cubes
Ham Slices
Green Olives (Stuffed with blue cheese from the olive bar)
Lettuce
Taco (Bottom to Top):
Newman's Own Light Lime Vinaigrette
Guacamole
Bean Mix from Kroger with Corn, Black Beans, Jalapenos, Cilantro, Tomatoes, Lime Juice
Black Olives (from the Olive Bar)
Ground Turkey with Taco Seasoning
Lettuce
The left and middle are Chef Salad and the right is Taco Salad.
Eggs:
Pita Bread
Cream Cheese (I decided to get the onion and clove flavored)
Grape tomato (left over from salads)
Garlic (Most grocery stores have an olive bar that has roasted garlic so i bought 6 cloves since I have six eggs easy to cut with a plastic knife)
One eggs
Assemble it all together and crack the egg on top, cook for 1:30-3 minutes depending on how cooked you want it . I did three minutes :)
Sorry there's no picture it was so yummy I ate it up before I thought about taking pictures.
SO YUMMY SO EASY SO HEALTHY!

Buyers Remorse no more!
OK so today at work I've been super bored and I decided to do some online shopping I have money leftover after buying all the necessities and I figured why not spend it on me right?
So I went on ModCloth, an amazing site in which I've always searched around but never actually bought anything its always been a pipe dream for my poor college student self. I found the perfect maxi dress after reading all the reviews I had no doubt I would love it! (and I always hated the way maxi dresses looked on me!) I put it in my cart and shopped around the sale section in order to find a few nick-nacks in order to fit the quota and make use of the free shipping. I was about to check out and I asked myself, "do I really need this? like realllyyy need this?"...the answer...no I don't, there are other things I can put my money towards.
Therefore I decided I would still be buying something from my online dream store, however it would be a beautiful necessity. I found an AMAZING navy blue skirt that is required for recruitment and I went ahead and put it in the cart, I added a pair of earrings that I also need for recruitment and a headband to reward myself for doing a good job and spending the money on things I actually need.
So there you go you can still indulge yourself and buy something amazing but at the same time have it be something that is beneficial to you in the future, and give yourself that small added reward.

I found breakfast!
ok so I said I was on the hunt for easy healthy reciepes for college students right? FOUND BREAKFAST!
I have been all over pinterest looking for ideas and found a microwaveable breakfast courtesy of Doctor OZ. Now even though it doesn't have many ingredients they are more out of the ordinary so you probably won't already have them...however you can use left over spinach and tomatoes from the salad jars, and substitute fresh garlic for powdered just be careful not to put in too much! Hope you like it Ill be trying it out soon!

Eating healthy...living on campus
Isn't that an oxymoron? trying to eat healthy but LIVING ON A COLLEGE CAMPUS I mean come on! Is it even possible? I'm trying so we'll see!
I few weeks ago I started weight watchers, I've been good about eating the right things but I will admit the excersing hasn't been easy, working three jobs and taking classes doesn't leave much time for the gym...unless I want to get up at 7am which I don't.
I noticed though that weight watchers doesn't have many reciepes online for college kids with limited funds and appliances. So here it is I will be on the hunt for the cheapest and quickest things to make that might not always require an oven. :)
First find of the day...drum roll please.....salad jars. They look yummy and delicious and even though they might take a few extra minutes to assemble you don't have to worry about finding places to store left over ingredients, and it makes enough food to be your lunches for the week! Easy peasie! So here's the link to My Not-So-Simple Life and I'll post a few picture to get your mouth watering! I know mine is!!

what is this?
My name is Lizzy and I am a poor, lost, confused, busy, stressed, overwhelmed college student going into my junior year, crazy to think about.
About Me: As I said I am a college student. I grew up in Maryland and traveled 1,500 miles to the glorious, huge, and HOT state of Texas to pursue a major in hotel and restaurant management. Last summer/fall I took a semester off from school and traveled another 1,000 miles to complete every little girls dream....live in disney. For 7 months I participated in the Disney College Program (so if you see a lot of disney things this explains it) it was amazing, life changing, crazy, hectic, stressful, tiring, but the most amazing work experience of my life.
That's the basics the "need to know", I've also traveled to Spain by myself at age 15 and started this need for travel that I don't believe will ever be satisfied. I've been on mission trips to New Orleans and Mexico that changed my life forever. I'm in love with humanity and I believe everyone has a story, everyone is dealt a different hand of cards and not always is there much they can do to change that. BUT THATS ENOUGH! I think you know everything now, well not everything but you'll find out eventually.
This blog is the pinterest of my life, what I find interesting and what could be interesting to others, there is no theme, no right or wrong question but PLEASE comment, like, reblog, whatever you want just so I know whatever I did it touched you in someway, that what I am doing is meaningful to others besides just me.
last interesting fact......I am in a sorority and I am in love with it :) <3
